Activity [6]: Demographics of Macedonia

The assignment was to pick a country in Southeast Europe and research their basic demographics, using this information you then create a travel brochure.

•Through out my research, I came across a website that had, "100 Things You Didn't Know About Macedonia"- this was very exciting in itself. Through this website I learned about Macedonia's extensive film community, something I'm very much interested in.
•I also learned about Macedonia's many tourist spots. A lot of these spots were evidently culturally/religiously-oriented, containing many towns with a cathedral centerpiece. This was very fascinating to me.
•I found out that Macedonia's national sport is soccer, something they take a lot of pride in. They have also participated in every Olympics, whether or not they have ever taken home the gold medal for any sport was not included in my research.
•I learned how to construct a basic brochure, quickly discovering that it is much harder than it looks.
•I learned about Macedonia's many cuisine delicacies, including a very shocking entrée of Stuffed Pigeon.

I enjoyed this activity because I tend to enjoy any project that requires much research of a foreign country, or any other geographical area. My delight was completely reached while researching when I came across the, '100 Things You Didn't Know About Macedonia' page; The discovery of this webpage was really a prime example of my researching prowess.
I loved learning about Macedonia's art and film culture, not just their basic geographical location and climatic statistics.
It was really refreshing to discover new cultures in a land far off, in Southeast Europe. I relish in any opportunity such as this, to extend my knowledge on other races and cultures of people.
